How do I get there from Auckland?
Waiheke Island is a 35 minute passenger ferry ride from Auckland Downtown Ferry Terminal via Fullers or 1 hour car ferry ride from Half Moon Bay/Wynyard Wharf via Sealink.
The chartered ferry service with Fullers (tickets purchased from Eventbrite) departs Auckland at 1:30pm (be at Pier 1C Auckland Downtown Ferry Terminal for boarding by 1:00pm at latest) and returns at 1:00am and includes bus transfers between Matiatia Ferry terminal and Flamingo Pier. Charter ferry tickets are sold out.
You can also catch a scheduled public Fullers ferry and a charter bus to/from Auckland. Scheduled public Ferry and bus charter only ticket options are available from Fullers. Charter buses to the event will run from 1-5pm, and will be returning from the event to Matiatia Ferry Terminal from 8pm onwards. Charter buses back to Matiatia will also stop at Ostend, Surfdale and Oneroa if requested.

The festival is approximately 15 minutes drive from Kennedy Point ferry terminal and 20 minutes from Matiatia Ferry terminal.
How do I get there from Waiheke Island?
For public transport, catch the #2 bus to Rocky Bay and ask the driver for Rangihoua Estate, 1 Gordons Road. Or you could cycle, walk or catch a taxi. Plan your journey on the Auckland Transport website.

Flamingo Pier is a safe, inclusive space for all. If anyone is making you feel uncomfortable, please talk to security (in yellow high vis jackets) or one of our staff. Look out for others. Be nice.
Water / Non-alcoholic Drinks / Food
There is free water available on site and a range of delicious non-alcoholic drinks and low-alcohol beers. You can bring empty water bottles onsite. It’s a long day in the sun, please pace yourself. There is a variety of food available with vegetarian and gluten-free options.
There is currently high fire risk on the island. Smoking is not allowed in the forest or under covered areas.
We are working towards a zero waste event with Waiheke Resources Trust. Please help us by using the appropriate bin for recyclables and compostables.
Should I dress up?
Absolutely! We make an effort to create a vibrant site and encourage everyone to add to this by getting creative and colourful in your dress. Flamingo Pier is a magical, lush dancing space in an island olive grove. Be part of the magic. We’ll reward your efforts with spot prizes on the night.
Do I need to print my ticket?
We will scan your Eventbrite ticket displayed from your phone just make sure you have it ready with enough battery charge. If you don't have a phone capable of this please print for scanning.
Can I volunteer?
Most definitely. If you'd like to contribute to the festival in exchange for entry please contact us on info(at)flamingopier.net. We're open to performers, builders, dancers, artists and anyone that can add to the vibrancy of the day.
